Hidden away on the MS website, somewhere, is the MS-published registry cleaner. I'd use that over anything produced by anyone else.

you can download a programme called regscrubxp. search for it on google. It should take you to a website called majorgeeks, then select a download location

First, to clean your registry you can use Regclean. So a search of your computer, If you are running windows before xp it should be in there. If you have xp it may not be in but if you email me with your email address will send you a copy. The popup is a PUP, that is potentially unwanted program, actually adware. You may be able to get rid of it with Norton but you need to try to be sure.

your registery has been hijacked by spam.

best program to go through your registery would be "hijack this". just google it and you can find the download, its free.

just watch what you delete as the registery is what tells the computer what to turn on.

other good programs would be:

ad-aware
etrust pestpatrol
spybot
winpatrol
spywareblaster
ccleaner

all free and able to be googled and all are rated top notch by several computer magazines.

use them all myself, I have no spam, no spyware and no virus’s.
