I installed Registry Booster from Uniblue. It's cheap and at least they have Microsoft Gold Partner status. Tried many free registry cleaners, not all reliable to be honest. Can check the site at http://www.liutilities.com/products/registrybooster
References :
I likes CCleaner! It work's well, haven't had any problems with it in the last 6 months. When it's loaded, and running, I suggest clicking,(checking), each box down to Advanced,(but NOT Advanced!), and stop. Then all you have to do is click on Analyze,(bottom left), and Run Cleaner. Takes about .000024 seconds, for each one, with my 250GB harddrive. It'll ask you are you sure, because it permanently deletes these 'tidbits',(my word, Tidbits, not theirs- Files!), from your registry. Take a close look at these Files after Analyze. These are leftover junk from programs, temporary internet files, etc., yes, they can go bye-bye! They take up room on your HD, and could cause corruption in your registry. Then go up to Issues, and click on Analyze again. Same thing! Click on Fix Issues, and it'll ask you if you want to Back Up these files. It'll put them in your My Documents folder, in case something get's deleted that shouldn't, so you can restore it. I haven't had to yet! I keep them just in case for a week, then delete them. Delete them from your Recycle Bin also. It gives you a description of each file before it delete's it. When you feel comfortable that it's not deleting something it shouldn't, just click on Fix All Issues.(Otherwise you may have a cupla' hundred files of leftover junk, and this could take a while! Sup to you!) This version is free, and works well! Yes, if you click on Update below they will try to sell you a better version. Hey, it's just sales! I just use the free version!
