How do you manually clean out old registry files from my computer without using a program to do it?

December 20th, 2009 | by admin |

I am familiar with the concept that registry needs cleaning, and used to use registry cleaner, but can’t afford to buy another program, so I was wondering if there was a way to do it manually, and how to be sure not to remove the wrong stuff. Thanks for any help here.
GREAT. I downloaded Ccleaner, and will not touch my registry. THANKS to everyone SOOO much!!! I really appreciate all your help.

+That isn’t recommended for a couple of reasons:

1. You will never get ALL the entries because they are placed in almost every hive. Some of them don’t have recognizable names so you wouldn’t associate them with the app you have uninstalled.

2. You could easily delete or change a key that is linked to an app that is still installed and being used. It may cause erratic behavior in the app or cause it to stop functioning altogether.

Go to download.com and see if you can find one for free.

registry editor is a crucial part of our system. All program files information is stored in that. If u are not a troubleshooter & have not any knowledge of registry editor then, u can’t do it manually as it may cause windows crash. U should use good registry cleaner software to remove errors & invalid entries from your registry.
