Which are the current best freeware registry cleaners?
February 19th, 2010 | by admin |Everyone advises me not to mess with the registry on my windows xp home edition. I figure I should do something as it slows my computer over and over.
Here are some good free registry cleaners. I’ve used them all at one time or another and have found them all satisfactory.

CleanUp! 4.5.2 by Steven Gould: http://www.stevengould.org/index.php?Itemid=70&id=28&option=com_content&task=view
* Whichever you choose, just be sure to have it back-up any changes before it makes them.

Hello Wild:
I have 2 Registry Cleaners that I paid for because the Registry is a delicate and mean thing to control. A little to delicate for taking any chances.
Have 2 suggestions
1) Run the "Disk Defagmentor" over and over to defragment your drive. Unfortunate that this Window tool is the only program that MS users claim to be good.
Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Computer Management And click on "Disk Defragmenter" and if you do this 3-4 times will help a hard drive a lot.
2) learn HOW TO BACK UP REGISTRY by entering this in your Yahoo or Google Search will give you a wealth of information. Back up your registry before you attempt anything.
Good luck
tom
