Though it is always a good idea to backup your registry before hand via system restore. It gives you the choice to backup what it deletes, though I don't recommend backing up from the program like that for it can cause conflicts. I deleted entries many times. But you have to be absolutely sure that what you are trying to delete is not a part of any existing program or system program. If you make a mistake it could be fatal.
