if i go into registry editor to delete a virus will the virus reappear when i restart?

January 20th, 2010 | by admin |

the particular virus is called Trojan-Downloader.Banload.BXM
my anti virus program spyware doctor found it.
said it removed it
but everytime i restart it would come back
so i went into registory editor through windows
and now i delete its entry
will it be gone?

Spyware doctor is identifying & deleting but the problem is the trojan will be backed up in system restore. You should update both antivirus & antispyware(Spyware doctor),then disable system restore.Reboot into safe mode & run both programs deleting or quarantining anything found. Then boot as normal & run both scans again. If you are all clear then you may re-enable system restore. The trojan should now be gone.

You only deleted the registry entry that the virus made not the virus therefore most virus’s will still run and just create a new registry entry, even if it doesn’t make a new registry entry the virus will still be on your computer. You need to actually delete the virus file so search for the virus file and delete it manually if your antivirus software didn’t delete it or try using a free antivirus program such as avast, avg, or comodo anti-virus.

Does Spy Doctor tell you where it is located?
