Is it safe to delete unused anti-virus from registry editor?

March 6th, 2010 | by admin |

Do I just go through all the registry entries that have the name on it and delete them? Will it effect the rest of my computer? Its an old anti-virus program that I dont use anymore.

thats how you do it if your not going to use it anymore, of course you could just go into your programs menu and delete the program.

Only do it if you’re ABSOLUTLEY sure you’re not using the AV.

    - uninstall it first
    - if you already did, delete the registry entry
    - use search ( ctrl+f) to find more entries of it, F3 for next find if you plan to remove all of it’s entries

It is OK if you know for a fact that you are only deleting what you don’t need. BE CAREFUL, you can completely shutdown your system requiring reinstall.
