What is the best registry repair program for XP Pro that isn’t a gimmick? Does Microsoft have one to download?
February 19th, 2010 | by admin |To all those that answered me…THANK YOU very much! The responses were very helpful. I tried to respond directly to each of you, but the system would not let me, so this is the best I can do.
Thank you again & Happy New Year!
If you are having problems with your system, I doubt it is due to needing a registry repair.
If things are really bad, you most likely need to do a repair install of windows. This will replace any corrupted system files, while leaving your programs and documents in place – though I would still back up first.

MS used to have regclean, but it’s hard to find now. It worked perfectly well. Very bare bones. You might google for it.

All registry cleaners are a gimmick. Learn to edit your own registry, or take it to a professional. Don’t let a program automatically alter and delete entries from your computers most vital organ.
It’s like taking your car to a mechanic and telling him to fix the problem before he even explains what’s wrong with the car, and then you’re stuck with a hefty bill and your car is broke worse than when you dropped it off.
Don’t do it.
